My research investigates authenticity and motivation in language learning, drawing on insights from sociolinguistics, psychology, and education. I also explore how technology—from memes to machine learning—shapes our communication and sense of self. I aim to make academic research accessible and meaningful both inside and outside the classroom.

I teach classes in English linguistics, communication, and academic writing. My seminars focus on research skills and critical perspectives on language in society. Students are encouraged to bring their interests into their projects and develop an individual voice.

In a world of rapidly changing technologies and diverse global communities, learning languages is more important than ever. My classes explore not just how language works, but why it matters—especially when it comes to identity, authenticity, and communication in digital contexts. I hope students will leave my classes with more questions than answers, and the critical tools to explore them.
